37. Finding Balance in the Holiday Season - The 80/20 Rule and Our Advice
Today we're talking about the 80/20 rule for living a healthy and exciting life! You may have heard of this method before but today we're really diving into the practical side of things as well as some other, less conventional, tips and advice. We love unconventional, our whole lives are unconventional!
80/20 can be applied to many areas of life but in terms of wellness and eating it means that 80% of the time you're fueling your body with things that help you feel your best and the remaining 20% you're living it up, guilt-free. We want to talk about this now because as we go into the holiday season, there are treats EVERYWHERE and drinks, on drinks, on drinks; it can be really hard to keep up with the 80/20 rule.
Here comes the unconventional advice: don't overthink it. Live it up around the holidays! We are going beyond our 20% this holiday season because we know it will fill us with joy to spend time with family and friends, guilt-free. Don't get us wrong, we're still doing things that make us feel good; we aren't diving 100% into indulgent-town, ELF-style, but we aren't going to beat ourselves up for enjoying the holiday season that only comes around once a year.
